Considered by some as the world's most complicated cocktail, the Bloody Mary is a classic eye opener that seems to have originated in Paris or New York City circa 1920. While it is a common drink, especially for brunch, it can be complicated in getting just the right balance of spiciness. Too much and it is hard to swallow without choking, too little and it is boring. It seems Fino strikes that balance in their Bloody Mary. We tried one at a recent brunch there and it was spot on. It's a mixture of Hangar One chipotle vodka, tomato, lemon, celery, horseradish, Worcestershire and Tabasco. The garnish of shishito pepper is a nice addition. No need to wait until 5:00 for this one. Highly recommended. (Cathy)
The love of food and how it can bring people together led to the creation of this blog. As a mother of two grown boys, who have left the nest and occasionally return, I noticed a common occurrence-- there is usually someone at home who is hungry.
