I had a Meritage espresso with milk--essentially a latte. Even though lattes are not listed on the menu, the folks here are very helpful and accommodating. The coffee was smooth and well prepared. When I asked about the pastries, the baristas were very forthcoming about which to order. Two different people suggested the chocolate croissant and I am glad I listened. All the baked goods come fromWalton's Fancy & Staple, and I believe this chocolate croissant was one of the best I have tasted in a very long time. The croissant itself was flaky with perfect texture throughout--lightly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The chocolate was dark and rich, reminiscent of Valrhona. So very decadent (luckily my friend was willing to split it with me).
Cuvée also offers a very special coffee drink on their menu. Black & Blue is their cold brewed, nitrogenated coffee served cold on tap. I have yet to try it, but so far the buzz is good. Black & Blue will soon be available for purchase in cans in local stores in 2015. I am very curious and now have another reason to return. Cuvée is open 6:30 a.m.- 10:00 p.m. weekdays, 7:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m. weekends.
