Are you going to a dinner party this weekend? Or perhaps just meeting up with friends? Do you plan to have any human interaction at all in the near future? Then you need to check out American Public Radio’s Dinner Party Download. It is available for free on ITunes, or can be accessed on the web here. Hosted by Rico Gagliano and Brendan Francis Newnam, the premise is simple—they present interesting, fun information about art, history, culture, books, manners, guests (celebs, authors, etc.) and most important, food, in the format of a dinner party. The ice breaker (a clever joke), small talk, current events, cocktails, main course, guest list and play list (music). It is a great way to keep conversations flowing and I promise you will learn something new and entertaining every time. A recent story (scroll to main course) on pork sticky rolls from Northern Spy food cart in New York City at the High Line Park made me want to take a trip to the Big Apple. (Cathy)
The love of food and how it can bring people together led to the creation of this blog. As a mother of two grown boys, who have left the nest and occasionally return, I noticed a common occurrence-- there is usually someone at home who is hungry.
