Milagro Farms for eggs-Farmer Kris is the egg master and my omelets will never be the same (see the film link below to learn more about Kris).
Dai Due blows me away every time. On one recent visit I tried their agarita and peach jelly donut that was for sale at the market. I brought several home to the family and it was truly a happy breakfast for all. I went back to Dai Due two weekends later to pick up some items I had pre-ordered and I am glad I did. The cornichons were bright, crisp, flavorful and very delicious. The Fireman’s 4 mustard is a wonderful addition to sandwiches, sausages or almost any savory item. The Molasses bacon is pure heaven (I added it to my pasta carbonara recently and brought the dish to a whole other level).
The Chelsea bun from Cake & Spoon is essentially a cinnamon roll with currants, but it is a nice treat, especially when heated up a bit.
I went back to Confituras because I so loved their blackberry jam. This time I tried the blueberry basil jam and it is a favorite for toast, biscuits or even on top of goat cheese. I also purchased the fig lavender marmalade and the peach Bourbon brown sugar jam as gifts and have been told they are much appreciated.
To be further convinced, take a look at the 12 films project by Christian Remde. Specifically the November film called Local. I think it will nudge you closer to the Farmers’ Market. (Cathy)
