The Sea Bass with grilled radish, snap peas, salt roasted baby beet and cucumber was our favorite entrée. The combination of flavors was just right and the fish was perfectly cooked. I had never tried radishes that had been grilled, so that was a new and enjoyable taste sensation for me. Of the various meat dishes offered, we both really enjoyed the Prime Ribeye. Normally the 16-ounce is served with whipped potatoes and asparagus, while the larger 24-ounce size is served with fried brussels sprouts, butter whipped potato and grilled seasonal vegetable. We were able to try the brussels sprouts which were very good--crispy with just the right amount of crunch. The tender, juicy ribeye was perfectly cooked medium-rare. For dessert we had the Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse with toasted marshmallow and banana sorbet. The idea for this dessert evolved from Chef Peter's favorite combination of chocolate, peanut butter, marshmallow and banana. He elevated it to a higher level and the result is spot on. I was amazed by the intense banana flavor from the sorbet. Really fruit forward and delicious.
We were very impressed that Chef Peter came out every time to explain each course. He is so genuinely passionate about his craft and it shows in his food and his demeanor. He radiated enthusiasm and was very personable, answering our many questions. The waitstaff is also warm, helpful and professional. We were very well taken care of. Finn & Porter's prix fixe summer menu offers a selection of three courses for $39. They have Happy Hour Monday-Friday with 1/2 off signature sushi and all Chef's tastings. Friday is wine night with 1/2 price wine on all bottles $100 or less. They have a private dining room which can accommodate parties up to 25. Valet parking is also available. I have heard good things about their sushi menu and hope to return to give it a try. (Cathy)
