I saw an interesting, new (as in not yet available) infuser called the Porthole which can be used to infuse oils, teas or spirits with herbs, fruit, etc. Developed by the owners of the Chicago cocktail bar, Aviary, the Porthole is a showpiece to be sure and would make a lovely gift (due out in October). Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the website and play the Porthole use tips video--three very good ideas are included. If for some reason you cannot wait until October, I found this low budget alternative at Bed Bath and Beyond. I have only used it for water thus far, but I imagine you could pour a bottle of vodka in there and add lemon, thyme, orange, whatever you dream of, for your custom infusion. I am drinking a lot more water these days since purchasing this pitcher. (Cathy)
