From the marble counter (items served room temperature) we had the Savory Onion and Beet Green Tart with garden lettuces. This tart had wonderful flavor and the crust was perfection. Also from the marble counter, we ordered the Red Grapefruit and Orange Salad with fennel and green olives. This light and refreshing salad was delightful; the olives were an unexpected but welcome addition. From the kitchen (served warm) we tried the Hand Cut Noodles with garbanzo beans, spinach and homemade ricotta--a bowl of hearty comfort food. For dessert we went with the Rosemary Chocolate ice cream and the Cardamon ice cream. The Rosemary Chocolate was a standout, with a nice pronounced rosemary flavor, but not overpowering. Our server confessed that the cardamon ice cream might have been switched with the vanilla since there was no trace of cardamon flavor present. It was delicious nonetheless.
The clean, light and bright interior is busy, yet somehow calming. The outdoor patio offers limited seating, but seems perfect for a cocktail on a spring afternoon, Service is smooth and seamless and hums along in the tight space.
