A few weeks ago I mentioned some of the new and updated restaurants that will be opening/reopening in Austin in the next several months (many along West 6th Street). It seems I missed a few. Here are five more to add to the list.
I got chills when I heard the news that Jezebel is reopening on W. 6th Street on the bottom floor of the Cirrus Logic building. I was starting to think that my old time favorite would never rise from the ashes. In addition to the restaurant there are plans for an adjoining bar and casual kitchen called Bar Mirabeau. Jezebel is due to open in late September. Note: Restaurant Jezebel closed January 2015
This Italian style eatery is scheduled to open in Clarksville (1315 W. 6th) sometime in the fall. Renovation of the 1922 bungalow is still under way.
Larry McGuire is at it again, this time in the former location of Portabla (1200 W. 6th). Clark’s is billed as the “little brother to Perla’s”. It’s a small space, so I imagine it will be a cozy neighborhood hangout. Due to open October 2012.
This is a new venture for Bridget Dunlap of Rainey Street bar fame. The restaurant is slated for a fall 2012 opening in a warehouse that was once home to a tortilla factory at 507 Calles Street in East Austin. Find out all the details in the Austin Business Journal.
Pinthouse Pizza Brew Pub
Sounds like this might be more brew pub than restaurant, but the word pizza leaves me hopeful. I am excited regardless since it is located in Rosedale along Burnet near 49th Street, not too far from home. Joe Mohrfeld is the highly regarded brewer from Colorado behind the project. (Cathy)
