Justine's-Intimate and cozy, the epitome of romantic with lovely French food.
Lenoir-Such great lighting and wonderful food, you can not go wrong. Try hard to avoid the communal table. Already booked for the 14th, but try for the day before or even the week after; it's worth the wait.
Vespaio-They don't take reservations, but if you show up early and get your name on the list, you can linger at the bar sipping wine. Mood lighting and good Italian food are part of the scene here.
Hudson's on the Bend-Old school Austin, very relaxed and comfortable with great service and food (my husband proposed to me here, so it holds lots of fond memories). They are offering a special Valentine's Day Six Course Menu with tickets secured once you make the reservation. The stars are brighter out west.
Siena - Those fireplaces and the cozy nooks upstairs make it a nice place for a tete a tete. Plus the Italian food is pretty solid. They only have space for lunch on Valentine's Day, perfect for some afternoon delight.
Olive and June-Shawn Crickel's little joint near Brykerwood is fun and lively, but still romantic. Italian dishes for sharing. That's amore! Looks like they are booked for the big day, but they seem to have availability for the evening before and after.
La Traviata-This Italian spot on Congress is a long time staple. We haven't been in a while, but their pasta dishes have always been great. Love the long wooden bar. When we last checked they had availability on the 13th.
Wink Wine Bar-This is located just opposite the restaurant Wink and does not take reservations, but head there early and order anything off the bar menu or Wink's menu and you can't go wrong. A real neighborhood vibe with lots of great wine and servers who care.
Zed's-Love their back patio. They have a special couple's menu in addition to their regular menu that night, plus jazz trumpeter Jeff Lofton will be playing.
Patrizi's - This Italian (as you can tell, we love our Italian) trailer is on Manor Road behind the Vortex Theatre. If you are not into making reservations and dressing up, pop by here early then go catch a film at the Violet Crown (maybe Her for something unconventional) or watch something romantic at home. We suggest Like Water for Chocolate or Richard Linklater's series Before Sunrise, Before Sunset and/or Before Midnight.
