Antonelli's - They have a series of cheese classes in May with more coming this summer. Make a night of it. She will cherish learning something new.
La Patisserie - A box of macarons are perfect; with flavors like Pistachio, Espresso Chocolate and Cardamom Honey Orange, she will love you forever.
Her favorite restaurant - Is she a fan of Lenoir, Fabi & Rosi, Congress, Qui (their tasting room is opening soon), Uchiko? Maybe something more low key like Contigo, Easy Tiger, Lucy's or Kerbey Lane? Call them up (if they take reservations) and arrange a special night out for Mom.
The Spa Queen
Lake Austin Spa - Give her a gift card or go ahead and schedule a massage that uses herbs, mineral salts, lavender, chamomile, lemongrass or jasmine. If you want to go all out, give a weekend getaway with cooking classes.
The Downton Fan
Steeping Room - It's all about the tea here (our favorite is English Caramel) and they have quite a variety, plus a lovely assortment of teapots and cups.
Breed & Company - If she loves giving dinner parties and brunches, she will be thrilled with a selection of Chilewich placemats, tea towels or aprons. They also have anything you might need for kitchen and table.
Paloma's Nest - a once local artisan (recently moved back East) that has an online shop (so order now) with beautiful items like Serving Boards in Cherrywood & Porcelain. or one of their personalized bowls or dishes is sweet.
Nannie Inez - There are so many great items in this store like the Matchstick Planter (citrus is our favorite color) for herbs, Centro Carafe and Glasses (the lemon color on a pretty tray would be gorgeous) or the Ceramic Sugar Can (which she could use for sugar or jewelry storage).
Spartan - Everything is amazing here, but we have a soft spot for the white tea kettle (see Downton Fan category above), the salt & pepper dishes, the beautiful glass colored vases and the gold coasters and candle holders (visit the store for the complete inventory).
Mockingbird Domestics - They have a wonderful assortment of tabletop items, both modern and vintage. There is a nice selection of jadite and milk glass if Mom is a collector. Great ceramics from Keith Kreeger (among others), graphic screen printed tea towels with Texas theme (we love the lemon tea towel reminiscent of Marimekko) and a cute tea cup poster (Downton on the brain).
