We have two posts today as part of our special July 4th edition! Xochitl, the company that makes the thin and crispy tortilla chips preferred by so many Texans, now has a new snack product--papitas, or potato chips. Xochitl papitas are kettle style which gives them that extra degree of crunch. They come in four flavors: Sea Salt, Salt & Vinegar (the flavor I tried), Jalapeno and Salt & Pepper. Priced at $3 at Central Market, they are a bit on the high side for the amount contained in the bag, but keep in mind that these chips are free of preservatives, cholesterol, trans fats, gluten and GMOs. You are paying for what's not included (the bad stuff) as well as a really great tasting, quality potato chip. Try them with Feta Dip for a tangy 4th of July snack. (Cathy)
The love of food and how it can bring people together led to the creation of this blog. As a mother of two grown boys, who have left the nest and occasionally return, I noticed a common occurrence-- there is usually someone at home who is hungry.
