I had the Club Sandwich which is turkey, bacon, arugula, tomato, roasted onion, provolone, and herb mayo, served on thick toasted bread. The turkey was moist and flavorful, the bacon was perfectly crisped, the produce was fresh, and the herb mayo pulled it all together. Truly a perfect combination for me. My husband ordered the G.T.L., which consists of broccoli rabe, peppernade, tomato jam, charred onion, and mozzarella served on a hoagie roll. The only quibble with this vegetarian sandwich is the size of the veggies; perhaps cutting them into smaller pieces would make it easier to eat. Otherwise, the sandwich was loaded with flavor and good texture. We also had a side order of their kimchi sprouts. These brussels sprouts seemed to be roasted then seasoned with a slightly spicy kimchi sauce. A great combination with layers of zestiness and it was a good amount for two to share.
Republic of Sandwich offers daily specials, breakfast (a variety of tacos and bagels, as well as challah french toast) and lunch. It is open everyday with varying hours. Catering and special events are also available. Republic of Sandwich is a nice addition to the neighborhood and I will return to try more of their sandwiches and hopefully some of their breakfast items too.
