The Ruby Gimlet
2 ounces Tito's Handmade Vodka
3/4 ounce hibiscus syrup (see instructions below)
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
In a small pot, heat equal parts water and sugar (I used I cup of each) until it starts to simmer and sugar dissolves. Add several hibiscus tea bags (I used 4, you may want more to achieve a darker color) and let steep for 5-15 minutes. Remove bags and store in a sealed glass container for up to one month in the refrigerator.
In a shaker filled with ice, add the vodka, hibiscus syrup and lime juice. Shake for 30 seconds and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a wedge of lime (optional). (Serves 1)
