I was so enamored with the food from Odd Duck, I didn't give the cocktail menu its due on Monday's post, but it definitely deserves a spotlight. Odd Duck has a full bar, and treats their drink ingredients with the same respect as their food menu. The specialty cocktails are fresh and inventive (they offer a few spirits from local distilleries), there are wines from around the world and a broad beer selection with some from local breweries. I had the Summerthyme cocktail: Ransom gin, cucumber soda, dill and thyme. Clean, crisp and refreshing on a sultry summer evening. Odd Duck has weekday Happy Hour 3:00-6:00 p.m. with 25% off bottles of wine and large format beers, $5 Draft Moscow Mule and Frozen Orange Margaritas and $3 Texas Drafts. Happy weekend! (Cathy)
The love of food and how it can bring people together led to the creation of this blog. As a mother of two grown boys, who have left the nest and occasionally return, I noticed a common occurrence-- there is usually someone at home who is hungry.
