Not in the mood to cook this Thanksgiving, but still want your holiday meal to taste homemade? Here is a short list of local spots to pre-order take out options (some offering full dinners, others just desserts and rolls):
Dai Due was out of pre-brined fresh turkeys, then got 10 more, but will probably be out again by the time you read this (call to check). They have sides and provisions available, plus their amazing Parker House rolls.
Fresa's has full meals plus Laura Sawicki's apple pie (ice cream, too). Orders are now being accepted, and must be placed by Friday, November 20 for pick up on Wednesday, November 25.
Sala & Betty will have a variety of Thanksgiving sides that will be available for purchase on Wednesday, November 25. The restaurant will be closed for the holiday on Thursday. Dishes include: Mac and Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Brown Gravy, Brussels Sprouts and Butternut Squash.
Texas French Bread is taking online orders for pies, rolls and other sweets treats. Other bakeries to try include Sugar Mama's Bakeshop, Bribery Bakery, Easy Tiger Bake Shop, Tiny's Pies, Royers Pie Haven, Cutie Pies, Sweetish Hill, Upper Crust and Quack's.
Walton's Fancy & Staple have a chef-prepared take-home Holiday Dinner, including pies and cakes. The final day to place an order for the Holiday Dinner is Friday, Nov. 20 by noon. For desserts the final day to place an order is Tuesday, Nov. 24 by noon.
Wheatsville, Whole Foods and Central Market all have full meals available for pre-order.
