Vintage Heart is a great place to meet a friend, have a business meeting or work alone. It's quiet, but not too quiet, so the ability to concentrate is easy, but having a conversation is not out of the question either. I was there to meet a friend for a post-holiday catch up, but I also noticed a lot of business types in the place. Understandably, the setting is clean, simple, and though the name implies vintage, it is on the modern side of vintage. Borderline utilitarian with a dash of charming--quirky art, wire baskets, patterned cloth napkins, antique cupboards displaying house made coffee syrups. Cozy nooks with couches and low tables, as well as standard wooden tables and chairs, some large enough for 6.
They serve fair trade coffees and espresso from Third Coast Coffee Roasting Company. The latte I had was quite good and was a perfect accompaniment to the Red Rabbit Cooperative Bakery donut. They also serve muffins and brownies from Red Rabbit (all of their products are vegan and taste so good) and pastries from Russell's Bakery. Vintage Heart has only been open since May of 2012, but it looks like they are an integral part of the developing East 7th experience. (Cathy)
